Kristina Sullivan of Eko Kreations lives with her husband Chad and baby daughter Sierra in the mountains north of Lake Tahoe. Kristina grew up in Sweden where she spent much of her childhood hand embroidering with her grandma, and learned how to sew clothes, from her mom. In her sewing studio in Graeagle, CA, is where she now design, cut, hem, sew, embroider, iron and label all her products from start to finish.
Eko Kreations started in 2012 after Kristina and her husband had hiked thousands of miles in the Rockies during the summer. It combines Kristina’s creative outlet of sewing with her love for the environment, and the beauty of nature. This is where her designs originate, bringing a little piece of nature's beauty and serenity indoors. Making eco-friendly textiles for the home is her way of contributing to a brighter future and supporting sustainable living.
Eko Kreations products are functional and sustainable. The hemp fabric is strong and absorbent, and lasts for a very long time. Organic cotton makes the fiber softer from the beginning, and the recycled polyester contributes to a more wrinkle resistant product. This combination of fibers along with the quality stitching make for functional towels and napkins that you can easily wash and dry in the machine, for everyday use.
“I feel that there is a special quality to goods which are made by hand, with intent and purpose; they are made by someone who cares and who brings their own joy and passion into their products. This is for me, also a part of a sustainable product, and is what I strive to share through Eko Kreations.” -Kristina Sullivan
